一九七四年度香港小姐競選 |

電視廣播有限公司主辦的「香港小姐競選」以世界最具規模的美國「環球小姐競選」和英國「世界小姐競選」為藍本，今年經已踏進第二年，有了去年的成功經驗，本年度在製作方面更見心思。
過去二十二年來，亞洲美人在「環球小姐競選」中表現殊佳，曾四奪得后冠。
今年TVB毅然負起要為香港選出一位才貌雙全的「香港小姐」代表香港參與競選的重責，在全港市民的熱烈支持下，得到更理想的成就。

The Miss Hong Kong Pageant has been designed with the world's two biggest pageants as blue-prints, the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant of America and the Miss World Contest of Britain. As last year's Pageant sought to highlight the first glittering night of Miss Hong Kong, so the 1974 competition, was to focus on the stage and production.
Miss Hong Kong 1974 was the only Miss Hong Kong representative at the two beauty contests of international fame.
Entrants in the Pageant last year, has done well in contests overseas. The second runner-up of the 1973 Pageant, Ethel Lau was placed second in the Miss Asia Quest, when she also won the Miss Friendship and Miss Talent awards.
This year, 1974's first runner-up, Judy Dirkin, won the Miss Personality award at the Miss World Contest held in London.
The success of previous Pageants has laid a solid foundation on which to build the prestige of the current one. Let us wish Miss Hong Kong in the future, whoever it may be, every success as the representative of Hong Kong.
