電視廣播有限公司主辦的「香港小姐競選」，目的在於選出一位才貌雙全、能真正代表香港美麗與文化的少女，提升海外人士對香港的印象。在三年來孜孜不倦的努力，終獲致美滿成果 - 世界最具規模、剛達廿五週年銀禧紀念的「環球小姐競選」決定今年在香港舉行!
一九七六年度香港小姐在本屆「環球小姐競選」中擔當一個吃重的角色 - 不但代表香港參加該項競選，還要以女主人的身份，招待各國來港參加競選的佳麗...
過去數屆「香港小姐競選」成就樹立了良好基礎，本屆「香港小姐」初登寶座，即以女主人身份，招待來港參加「環球小姐競選」的各國佳麗，這份殊榮，必使她畢生難忘記!

The Miss Hong Kong Pageant, organized by HK-TVB, aims at enhancing the image of Hong Kong abroad by selecting young women who are truly representative of the beauty and culture of Hong Kong. This year, the effort has been rewarded most handsomely as Hong Kong has been chosen as the venue for the 25th anniversary of the Miss Universe Pageant.

The success of past contests has laid soled foundations for the Miss Hong Kong Beauty Pageant and all is set for the coming titleholders. The titleholder this year enjoyed a happy reign and exercised her role as Hong Kong's goodwill hostess at The Miss Universe 1976 Pageant.
