一九七七年度香港小姐競選又舉行了，此項選美活動，不單祇是一年一度本港盛事，而更重要的，是我們要在此項選美活動中，選出一位能真正代表香港的佳麗。由電視廣播有限公司主辦的香港小姐競選，今年己經是第五屆，每年當選的佳麗，在參加國際選美活動中，對促進本港與世界各地友誼與瞭解，都獲得很大成就。
一九七三年度香港小姐季軍劉慧德，在亞洲小姐競選中榮獲亞軍，而且獲得友誼小姐及天才小姐榮銜。
一九七四年度香港小姐亞軍杜茱迪，參加在倫敦舉行的世界小姐競選，亦獲得性格小姐榮銜。
最值得一提的，是去年環球小姐競選，選擇在香港舉行，香港小姐林良蕙以主人份參加競選，與來自世界各地的佳麗融洽相處，使她們對此行都留下深刻美好的印象...
新香港小姐像往年一樣將會代表香港參加環球小姐競選，同時亦將負起加強香港與各地的友誼與貿易聯繫的重任。所以，她在未來一年中是要在各方面為本港社會努力提供貢獻...

Time now again for the exciting event of the year, Miss Hong Kong 1977 Pageant to take place. The event not only brings excitement and entertainment to the local audience, but has also promised us with a beauty who can truly represent Hong Kong, its people and its culture, and more, its high status in world trade and industry. Miss Hong Kong Pageant, organized by TVB, has been running successfully for four years now. Crown holders of the Contest in previous years have helped spread friendship and understanding in pageants abroad.
The second runner-up of the 1973 Pageant, Ethel Lau won the Miss Friendship and Miss Talent awards when she also came second in the Miss Asia Quest. Judy Dirkin, first runner-up of the 1974 Pageant, won the Miss Personality award at the Miss World Contest held in London.
The great reward came last year when Hong Kong was chosen to be the venue for the 25th Miss Universe Pageant. Miss Hong Kong 1976 Rowena Lam made her fellow contestants' and guests' of the pageant stay in Hong Kong a most fascinating experience…
The new Miss Hong Kong will again be representing Hong Kong in the Miss Universe Pageant. Also she will be strengthening ties of friendship and promoting local trade abroad. Certainly she will contribute every effort for the local community in her reigning year.
