香港小姐競選今年踏入二十一周年，積聚過往之經驗，今屆特作出多項突破，務求令這個每年一度的全城盛事辦得有聲有色。
今年，大會以「衝破局限，不再平凡，純美的突破」為今屆香港小姐競選主題。大會特於三月二十七日及二十八日，假金鐘廊展覽廳舉行「純美的突破展覽會」，展出歷屆香港小姐競選的外景拍攝片段，並設置講座，即場傳授有關化粧、髮型及儀態等心得，吸引大批市民參觀。
每屆香港小姐均負起親善大使的使命，代表香港前赴世界各地，進行推廣和宣傳香港的形象及拓展香港工商業在海外市場作出肯定的貢獻，並實踐了香港小姐服務香港的使命...

If there is one event Hong Kong has come to expect every summer, that must surely be the Miss Hong Kong Pageant, which has continued to delight, enthrall and dazzle the people of Hong Kong for the past 20 years.
