三十年完美盛事，新世代港姐有妳更添意義 |

歷屆香港小姐競選全城矚目，一直被譽為本港最具規模及代表性之選美盛會，欣逢今年是港姐競選三十週年紀念，當選本年度香港小姐，代表香港赴世界各地，推廣及宣揚香港的旅遊及工商貿易，別具深遠意義。配合三十週年盛典，大會以「三十年完美盛事，新世代港姐有妳更添意義」為口號，期望參選者把握機會，在這個歷史性的年份參選，成為新世代香港小姐。
...為使全港市民全面參與投選本年度之香港小姐，大會除繼續舉辦匯應通觀眾投票活動外，更新增打氣金句遊戲，由觀眾自創打氣金句，為心目中最喜歡的佳麗打氣。此外，大會並特別推出三十週年紀念歌曲「給•香港小姐」，分別由二十位候選佳麗及歌星楊千嬅主唱。
準決賽於七月廿一日舉行，決賽則在八月十一日晚在紅磡香港體育館舉行，除翡翠台現場直播整晚盛況外，節目並以衛星直播至澳洲、新加坡及美國，節目內容以港姐三十年慶典，以歌聲舞影頌讚這為無數女性譜出理想的純美歷程。

The year 2002 marks the 30th anniversary of the Miss Hong Kong Pageant. As this annual extravaganza turns a new chapter, the Organising Committee wishes that the ultimate title winners who are joined by other contestants in their opportune participation in this historical year will follow in their predecessors' footsteps representing Hong Kong overseas to promote the SAR's tourism and business.
This year's mass calling poll invited the general public to create slogans with messages of encouragement in support of their most favourite candidates. Besides, a theme song has been specially composed to celebrate the pageant's 30th anniversary with renditions by Miriam Yeung and 20 contestants respectively.
Held on 21 July, the semi-final, themed on bringing out the contestants' performing potential... The final of the Miss Hong Kong Pageant 2002 was staged at the Hong Kong Coliseum on 11 August with a theme on the Pageant's celebration of its 30th anniversary. In addition to live broadcast on Jade, the extravaganza has also be simulcast via satellite to Australia, Singapore and the United States on this historical evening. |
